Question: Why do my bulbs seem to keep blowing?
Answer: 1.Check for burn marks on the lamp holder if seen, change the fitting. 2.Do not buy cheap lamps. 3.If there are more than one lamp in a fitting try reducing the wattage. The higher the wattage the higher the heat the quicker they go.
Question: Why is it the fuse blows or mcb trips on my fuse board when a bulb blows?
Answer: Do not buy cheap lamps. (They do not normally contain a fuse so when faulty, blow the one on the fuse board)
Question: My bulb shot out of the fitting on to the floor, why?
Answer: 1.As above. 2.Your bulb was the weakest link not the fuse.
Question: How long should a bulb last?
Answer: 1.A normal lamp should last around 1,000 hours. We have had customers who have had the same lamps in use for over 20 years! (no it was not one of ours) 2.Why not try a Long life lamp or a low energy lamp, these normally have a life span of around 10,000 hours.
Buying cheap lamps from Markets & Pound shops etc. is false economy. You will end up buying more in the long run.
